For the first time in a number of years SCOTS had a stand at the Roads Expo event in SEC Glasgow on 27-28 November. We have consistently supported the event and were delighted to be able to make use of the complimentary exhibitions space.
The was staffed by the SCOTS Chair and members of the Strategic Issues Group over the 2 days. We met a lot of SCOTS members, private companies, professional institution reps, Transport Scotland officials and the Cabinet Secretary also popped past for chat.
The event did of course see the announcement on the National Speed Management Review as well as an update on the A96 Corridor Review.
SCOTS members were also heavily involved in organising the Roads and Bridges conference programs and provided a number of speakers/facilitators.
On the back of the event, we can expect to get a number of offers to present to Working Groups and also to re-establish some collaborative links that have drifted since the pandemic. There were also a few options for topics we could build into our own Conference in May 2025
It was a very productive couple of days and well worth SCOTS having a presence.
